Invisalign®

Invisalign® is a versatile and discreet treatment that uses the latest technology to straighten teeth. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® uses clear removable aligners that fit over the top and bottom teeth and gently coax teeth into position.

Having a super straight smile is something many of us dream about. House of Dental can make that dream a reality with Invisalign®.

What are Invisalign® braces?

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® is barely noticeable, so there is no reason to feel self-conscious. Their convenience and ease of use are why it’s the choice for over half a million people.

The clear aligners can also be removed for day-to-day dental hygiene as well as for eating. The process is quite straightforward and your dentist will talk you through it and answer any questions you may have.

Before the treatment starts, we will make sure that your oral health is optimal for Invisalign®. If you need to have any treatment ahead of Invisalign®, your dentist will discuss and create a plan for you.

Before the treatment starts, we will make sure all your teeth are ready for Invisalign®. If you have a chipped tooth or a small gap, the dentist will recommend having a composite bonding treatment before fitting the Invisalign®.

We use 3D imaging software which lets us plan your treatment right down to the last millimetre of movement. This will also allow us to show you a preview of your new smile before starting the treatment and ensure the clear aligners are made to exactly fit your teeth.

You will be given a personalised Invisalign® plan and your dentist will monitor you on every step of the journey.

FAQs

How long does treatment take?

The time needed for Invisalign® to work its magic will vary depending on the severity of the case. It is recommended that you wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day.

How does the treatment begin?

At House of Dental, you will have a full comprehensive oral examination, radiographies, photos and we can also create a 3D model of your teeth in just minutes with our intraoral scanner. This means we can design incredible results due to the accuracy of your aligner fit and the detailed planning of your treatment.

How does Invisalign® work?

The series of clear, removable aligners are changed every seven to 14 days. There is no tightening to be done, no changing of wires and no elastic bands to get in the way. Instead, all of the adjustments are made with one new aligner every few weeks.

Can I take my Invisalign® aligners off if I need to?

Yes, you can remove your Invisalign® aligners for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. You can take them off for special occasions, like a wedding, job interview, or for playing your favourite sport or instrument. Just remember to wear them 20 to 22 hours a day to get the best results.

Will it hurt?

You may experience discomfort in the first 12 hours but it will ease over the next few days.

Who is it suitable for?

Invisalign® is a great solution for adults and teenagers (16 and above) who want a beautiful smile without the visibility of traditional metal braces. The technological advances make it possible to fix nearly all common teeth-straightening and bite issues, from simple to complex, all without interrupting your busy life. And, thanks to a discreet blue dot on the outside of teen aligners, parents can be sure their child is wearing their clear aligners enough.

What happens when my treatment has finished?

We frequently recommend that anyone who has completed Invisalign® treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back toward their initial position. Every case is different, and we will advise you on what type of retainer best meets your needs.
